3rd UTC Conference for the Southeastern Region

Mark your calendars for the 3rd Annual UTC Conference for the Southeastern Region which will take place March 26-27, 2015.

This year, the conference will be hosted by the University of Alabama at Birmingham in collaboration with Mississippi State University. Both institutions are members of the STRIDE Center, a U.S. DOT grant-funded University Transportation Center (UTC) housed at the University of Florida, a consortium of eight universities in the Southeastern region.  The conference has a strong focus on research sponosored by the U.S. DOT's Office of the Assistant Secretary for Research and Technology (OST-R) and brings together a variety of transportation professionals such as faculty, students, practitioners and public officials, and showcases research from the UTCs in the Southeast.

A call for abstracts will be issued in October 2014.

For more information, contact the organizer: Dr. Virginia Sisiopiku, UAB, at vsisiopi@uab.edu.

The UTC conference was conceptualized by STRIDE, a regional UTC housed at the University of Florida.  STRIDE at UF hosted the first conference in March 2013 in Orlando, Fla., followed by Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Ga., in 2014. It is expected this conference for UTCs will become a tradition in the southeast.
